Ingredients:
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Zest one orange
Optional: 1 tablespoon orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau)
Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine the orange juice and sugar. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch with a few tablespoons of cold water to create a slurry. Stir until the cornstarch is completely dissolved.
Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan with the orange juice and sugar. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring constantly.
Continue to cook the sauce for about 5 minutes, or until it thickens and becomes glossy.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the lemon juice and orange zest. If desired, add the orange liqueur and stir well to combine.
Let the sauce cool slightly before serving. It can be served warm or chilled.
